Zakat, Tax, customs authority thwarts major Drug smuggling attempt at Al-Batha crossing

In a significant operation at Al-Batha border crossing, officials from the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority successfully intercepted an endeavor to smuggle a staggering 49.598 kilograms of the illicit drug shabu (methamphetamine). The contraband was cunningly concealed within a vehicle destined for entry into Saudi Arabia through the port.
The discovery unfolded during a meticulous inspection conducted by the authority, revealing the crude form of methamphetamine strategically hidden within the vehicle. Subsequently, the recipient of the seized drugs within the Kingdom was promptly apprehended, underscoring the authorities’ commitment to tackling drug-related crimes.
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority emphasized its unwavering dedication to fortifying customs control over Saudi imports and exports. This relentless vigilance is part of a collaborative effort with partners from the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, aimed at safeguarding society from the perils of drug trafficking.
