Iraq, US forge closer security ties in wake of Iran’s provocative strike

In a pivotal meeting held at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Jake Sullivan, the national security advisor to President Joe Biden, engaged with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani and Iraqi Kurdistan’s leader, Masrour Barzani, on Tuesday.

The diplomatic discussions arose in response to Iran’s recent ballistic missile strike in Iraq’s western region. A statement released by the White House highlighted the urgency of addressing Iran’s provocative actions, particularly its reckless attacks on neighboring nations.
