The Foreign Ministry of Saudi Arabia has vehemently denounced the recent actions of the Israeli occupation forces, particularly the intrusion into Al-Shifa Hospital and the bombing near the Jordanian field hospital within the besieged Gaza Strip.

Characterizing these actions as clear violations of international humanitarian law and a departure from established norms and agreements, the Kingdom has emphasized the imperative to activate international accountability mechanisms. These mechanisms are seen as necessary to address the ongoing violations and inhumane practices carried out by the Israeli occupation forces against civilians, medical staff, children, women, and relief teams.

Late on Wednesday, the Israeli army targeted Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City with a tank shell, causing significant damage to the coronary care and surgical units, as reported by authorities in the embattled Gaza Strip. The Health Ministry in Gaza revealed that the tank shell also impacted the hospital’s power generator, with the two arrested technicians allegedly responsible for its operation.

The ministry previously asserted that the Israeli army deliberately sabotaged and damaged a substantial portion of the hospital’s medical equipment during the condemned raid. Despite facing shortages of fuel and supplies due to the ongoing Israeli blockade, Al-Shifa Hospital, housing numerous patients and individuals seeking refuge from Israeli attacks, had already suspended some services.

Wednesday morning witnessed the Israeli army’s forceful entry into Al-Shifa Hospital after days of besieging the facility. The situation adds to the escalating tensions and raises international concerns regarding the protection of medical facilities and the well-being of civilians in the conflict-ridden region.
