Tripartite cooperation takes center stage at United Nations General Assembly
Foreign ministers from Iraq, Jordan, and Egypt convened on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation in various economic and political domains.
The meeting, attended by the foreign ministers of these three nations, underscored the imperative of advancing joint initiatives and unveiled plans for fresh collaborations encompassing electrical interconnection, renewable energy, communications, trade, industry, transportation, health, and construction.
The trio of ministers delved into the tripartite cooperation framework and reviewed the outcomes of their previous summit held in Baghdad in June 2021. In addition to this, they engaged in discussions regarding regional stability, emphasizing the critical need to achieve security and order.
Addressing the Palestinian question and efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis took prominence during their deliberations, particularly through the Arab Contact Group, aimed at alleviating the plight of the Syrian populace.
The foreign ministers have pledged to sustain their coordination efforts in preparation for the forthcoming tripartite summit, scheduled to take place in Cairo.
