Kuwait appoints new Prime Minister
Kuwait has appointed Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as the country’s new Prime Minister.
This was disclosed by the Diwan of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah.
According to him, an Emiri order was issued on Sunday July 24, 2022, naming retired General Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf a new Prime Minister for Kuwait.
Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad was also asked to immediately implement the order and form the new government, according to the Emiri Diwan statement.
The statement noted that that the order to appoint Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad was issued by the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah based on the Emir’s decree on November 25, 2021 mandating the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad to perform some of the Emir constitutional powers.
The Crown Prince asked the Prime Minister to inform the National Assembly about the order and issue it in the official Gazette.
