Special envoy from OIC Secretary-General for Africa meets Gambian President
The special envoy of the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Africa, has on 29th May, 2022, met with President Adama Barrow of The Gambia.
The president received and welcomed the envoy in high esteem.
The Special Envoy, Mr. Nassirou Bako Arrifari extended the greetings of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in person of Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha, to the Gambian President.
The Special Envoy also congratulated the Gambian President on the occasion of his re-election. The Special Envoy further praised the efforts made by his government to achieve development, peace and stability in the country.
Reviewing the multiple challenges facing the West African region, the meeting offered an opportunity to examine issues related to the political transition in the Republic of Mali, Burkina Faso and the Republic of Guinea.
Also, the meeting stressed the importance of concerted efforts, cooperation and encouragement of dialogue in order to find acceptable solutions to these issues.
