Mother returns from work to find son shot to death
On Wednesday night, a Brooklyn health care worker returned home to find her 22-year-old son fatally shot inside their second-floor apartment.
Police sources said Tristan Templeman was likely dead for hours, shot in the head by an unknown assailant.
Their home is on Montauk Ave. near New Lots Ave. in East New York and the mother returned home about 7:15 p.m.
“I opened the door and I found him,” the grieving mother, Joan Templeman, a home health aide, said.
“There was blood, and his body was behind the door. The police have no answers for me.”
Neighbor Brigida Battista, 70, said she heard and saw the mother’s cries of anguish.
“She came out crying,” Battista said.
“She said she went in and found him dead. You could hear her crying from outside.”
“Everybody has guns and the government does nothing, Battista added. “The world is going crazy.”
Police have made no arrests in the slaying, and Templeman’s mom said she was still sorting through what happened.
