4 killed, 3 wounded in Nile ferry crash
At least four people have died while 3 people wounded in a ferry crash which occurred in the Nile river near the Egyptian village of Dimishly.
Only two bodies were recovered while authorities continue with the search for the remaining two.
Governor of Beheira, Major General Hisham Amna, inspected the site of the accident and ordered emergency aid of LE10,000 to be disbursed to the families of each victim.
While explaining the cause of the accident on Friday August 14, 2020, Beheira authorities stated that the initial cause of the accident was the slippage of one of the cars on board, which caused the ferryboat to become imbalanced, leading it to overturn and sink.”
Monufiya Health Directorate announced that two of the injured, Ahmed Mabrouk, 25, and Abdel Rahman Khedr, 21, both from Dimishly, have left the hospital after receiving medical services, while the third person injured in the accident has been transferred to Kom Hamada Hospital in Beheira.
