Palestinian President rejects Israel-UAE deals

Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, has rejected the UAE-Israel deal.

While disclosing this in a statement on Thursday August 13, 2020, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, Abba’s senior adviser, said the Palestinian leadership rejected and denounced the UAE, Israeli and U.S. trilateral announcement.

A statement by Abu Rudeineh outside Abba’s headquarter in the occupied West Bank in Ramallah said that the deal was in total betrayal of Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa and the Palestinian cause.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Israel and the United Arab Emirates came to a historic peace deal that would normalize diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Under the agreement brokered by the U.S President, Donald Trump, Israel would suspend applying sovereignty to areas of the West Bank it has been planning to annex.

In a joint statement sealed over the phone by the three leaders, Trump, Netanyahu and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, Abu Dhabi crown prince of, it was said that the agreement would help normalize agreement relationship between Israel and United Arab Emirates.

“This historic diplomatic breakthrough will advance peace in the Middle East region and is a testament to the bold diplomacy and vision of the three leaders and the courage of the United Arab Emirates and Israel to chart a new path that will unlock the great potential in the region,” the statement reads.
