OIC approves new financial assistance for 15 projects
Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has approved new financial assistance for fifteen developmental projects in Member States and Muslim communities in non-member states.
The assistance is provided through the Islamic Solidarity Fund, an OIC subsidiary organ responsible for emergency sectors, universities, centers and societies, hospitals, and schools in Member States.
According to Mr. Ibrahim Al-Khuzaim, the ISF’s Executive Director, the newly approved projects by the OIC Secretary General included humanitarian, educational, health, and social sectors in countries including Uganda, Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, Gabon, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana and Niger.
The assistance rendered by the OIC-ISF is a reflection of the organization’s vision to help advance levels of intellectuality and morality of the Muslim peoples by providing needed support and materials to the Muslim world and also to promote cultural and social courses aimed at development of the Muslim society.
As part of its vision, the organization also provides humanitarian assistance to Muslim countries and societies vulnerable to disasters and crises.
It is also worth a mention that the projects mirror OIC’s solidarity with countries and ISF’s commitment and solid interest in bringing about human development and advancing levels of Muslims in the world.
This is in addition to the organization’s commitment to develop human capabilities in social, economic, educational, cultural, and health fields.
