The Iranian government has sentenced an Iranian citizen to death after being found and convicted of spying on the late Quds Force Commander, Qasem Soleimani.

This was announced by the Iranian government spokesman Gholamhossein Esmaili who also said, the convict, Mahmoud Ismaili Majd, provided information about the whereabouts of the late Qasem Soleimani to United States and Israel.

Esmaili said, “Majd who used to work in the Quds Force had provided security information about the Iranian armed forces as well as Qasem Soleimani’s places of residence and whereabouts in exchange for money.”

He added that, “The death sentence has been upheld and will be carried out soon.”

Soleimani was the long-time commander of the Quds Forces, which has been a designated terror group in the US since 2007. The group is estimated to have 20,000 members.

He was killed at the beginning of the year in a US drone attack near Iraq’s Baghdad International Airport.
