India, Israel collaborate to develop Covid-19 testing kit
Israeli Embassy in India disclosed on Monday 25th May 26, 2020 via its Twitter handle that Indian and Israel scientists are on a plan to collaborate and produce a coronavirus rapid testing kit that could give result in a matter of minutes.
According to the Embassy, the new diagnosis would be based on big data and Artificial Intelligence technology.
“This is the part of the vision of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for wide-ranging scientific cooperation between India and Israel,” the tweet reads.
In a press release issued by the Embassy on Monday, the discussion about the new rapid testing kit had in attendance Dr K Vijay, Raghavsn, Principal scientific advisor, Sanjeev Singla who is India’s ambassador to Israel and Ron Malka, Israel’s ambassador to India.
Also in attendance were officers from the Defense and Research Development Organization (DRDO) and the council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and officials from Israel’s Ministry of Defense.
