Ed Oliver arrested for DWI, unlawful possession of weapon

Ed Oliver, Buffalo Bills defensive tackle, has been arrested in his hometown of Houston for driving while intoxicated and for unlawfully carrying a weapon.

Oliver, who was arrested on Saturday May 16, 2020, was detained in custody at Montgomery County after he was pulled over and arrested on State Highway 242.

According to the Montgomery County Police Reporter, a motorist called 911 that Oliver who was in a white Ford Super Duty pickup truck with a “dune buggy” on the back was failing to maintain a lane and was driving dangerously in a 45 mile-per-hour construction zone.

As a DWI certified officer came to the scene, an open container of alcohol was found in his car. The police also searched his car, and found a pistol in the vehicle. Oliver was then transported to the Montgomery County jail.

In a statement early Sunday morning, the Bills said, “We are aware of the situation, and we are gathering more information. We will have no further comment at this point.”

In 2019, NFL draft the Bills selected Oliver as No. 9 pick. He recorded 43 tackles ive sacks and eight quarterback hits as a rookie in his first season.
