Arsenal star, Mesut Ozil donates $100,000 to Turkey, Syria, Somalia

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has displayed a great sense of humanity as he donated 713,000 Turkish liras which is $101,000 dollar equivalent in aid campaign to the Turkish Red Crescent for the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

With the donation, 16, 000 people in Turkey would be provided with iftar (evening meal Muslims eat to break their fast). 2,000 food packages would be given to families in Turkey and Syria, while Mogadishu, the capital city of Somalia would receive 90,000 iftar packages.

While thanking Ozil for the generous donation, the head of the Turkish Red Crescent, Kerem Kinik said, “We will deliver the packages provided with the donation of my brother Mesut to people in need as soon as possible.”
