North Korea replies to Pompeo, threatens to hurt US
Following Mike Pompeo’s remark about North Korea’s nuclear program, the leadership of the country has vowed to repay the US with terror and unrest it has inflicted on its people
In his remark, Pompeo had urged the world’s leaders to apply pressure on Hermit Kingdom’s controversial nuclear program.
“The G7 and all nations, must remain united in calling on North Korea to return to negotiations, and stay committed to applying diplomatic and economic pressure over its illegal nuclear and
ballistic missile programs,” Pompeo urged.
Pompeo made the comments after a video conference he had with foreign leaders [G7] discussing coronavirus pandemic and other issues.
Actually days before the meeting, President Trump had extended a hand of support to North Korea in a personal letter to Kim Jong to collectively fight the pandemic.
Commenting on Pompeo’s remarks which he referred to as “reckless remarks, the North Korea Foreign Minister official said that North Korea was ready to pay the US back for the suffering it has caused them.
“Hearing the reckless remarks, we dropped interest in dialogue with further conviction. But we have become more zealous because our planned projects aimed at repaying the U.S with actual horror and unrest for the suffering it has inflicted upon our people,” the official said.
It was further noted in the statement that the U.S. would be hurt if it tries to bother North Korea in any way.
“We will go our own way. We want the U.S. not to bother us. If the U.S. bothers us, it will be hurt,” the statement added.
