Coronavirus: UK Health Minister tests positive
Ms Nadine Dorries, United Kingdom’s Health Minister has tested positive to coronavirus.
The minister was tested on Tuesday March 10th, 2020 after she first showed symptoms.
The 62-years-old Health Minister tweeted that, “It had been pretty rubbish but I hope I’m over the worst of it now.”
Public Health England had started tracing people she had contact with and the department and her parliamentarians office were close following its advice.
It is not known how many meeting Ms Dorries has attended in Westminster or in her constituency since her exposure to the virus.
Thus, every health minister including Health Secretary Matt Hancock will undergo testing for the virus align with other officials who have come in contact with Ms Dorries.
The Health Secretary has also tweeted to commend Ms Dorries efforts of isolating herself.
He tweeted that, she had “done the right thing” by isolating herself at home and “wished her well as she recovers.”
“I understand why people are worried about this isease. We will do all we can to keep people safe based on the best possible science,” he added.
