The Sasol South Africa Solar Challenge, which started on the 18th of September, culminates tomorrow, 28th of September, at the CSIR in Pretoria, when the solar powered vehicles cross the 5000 kilometre finishing line. The Illanga II, a solar vehicle designed by the students from the University of Johannesburg (UJ) is scheduled to arrive in Pretoria at the CSIR at about 12:30 pm, on its final leg of the demanding Sasol Solar Challenge, from Secunda. UJ’s Illanga, sponsored by Siemens, Eskom and MTN, has been one of the local and international solar cars that entered this year’s two week challenge.
