President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani expresses disappointment over terrorists attacks in the country
The rate at which suicide attacks on mosques is increasing has raised concerns. Recently, it has been reported that two back to back suicide attacks aimed at the Shia and Sunni Muslim community mosques in Afghanistan recorded close to 70 deaths.
However, the Daesh group has claimed responsibility for the attack at a Shia Muslim mosque in the capital Kabul that killed up to 39 people, injuring 45. Also, Daesh has praised the attacker named Abo Amar Al-Turkmani for killing up to 70 ‘infidels’ at this Shia Muslim community mosque. These attacks have prompted many muslims and non muslims to wonder what joy could be derived from hurting other people.
In addition, it has been confirmed that the suicide bomber walked into the Imam Zaman Mosque where he detonated his explosives vest, said Maj. Gen. Alimast Momand at the Interior Ministry. Also, Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish confirmed it was a suicide attack aimed at the Imam Zaman Mosque in the capital’s western Dasht-e-Archi neighborhood. He further explained that the attack has left 39 innocent people martyred and 45 more wounded.
Similarly, a similar attack was recorded in the same mosque few months ago. It was also claimed by pro-Daesh militants. Reports confirmed that about 50 people were killed in the attack. Numerous attacks have been recorded in the country this year. This has brought about an increase in the insecurity level of the country.
In reaction to this, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani expressed his disappointment to such act. He also said that the attacks are crimes against humanity, contrary to all Islamic values and human rights:
“The terrorists criminals who have tarnished the image of Islam for their evil targets and do not believe in any of its values, threatens the security of the people, especially the faithful worshipers.”
The president further added that the terrorists’ plans of sowing seeds of hatred against the national unity in Afghanistan would not be thwarted and they will soon be suppressed and destroyed by the Afghan security and defense forces. The president has invested more on the security service of the country which has lifted the hope of people on the sector.
The country over the years has experienced suicide attacks between followers of different sects in Afghanistan. The president of the country expressed his disappointment on the conflict. He confirms that the country’s security service will soon get hold of the attackers. However, he urged everyone to live in peace and unity as the success of every nation lies with peaceful coexistence.
