Globacom launches e-top up and Glo cafe in Nigeria

Tele communications companies in Africa have recorded tremendous successes in effectively serving their customers with the provision of extensive internet services. Globacom company is not left out amongst these companies. Globacom Limited (or GLO) is a Nigerian multinational telecommunications company headquartered in Lagos. GLO is a privately owned telecommunications carrier that started operations on 29 August 2003. It currently operates in four countries in West Africa, namely Nigeria, Republic of Benin, Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire.

Recently, Globacom has introduced Sharp Sharp E-top up and Glo Cafe service to make airtime recharge easier and more flexible for its subscribers. This development has been targeted to achieve the aim of easing recharge and call services.

Before the excution of the sharp sharp e-top up, Globacom company introduced the Glo-1 which is the first successful submarine cable from the United Kingdom to Nigeria, and GLO is the first individual African company to embark on such a project. Glo-1 has the potential to provide high speed internet services, faster, more reliable and cheaper telecom services. Also, Glo-1 has potentially facilitate foreign investment and employment opportunities especially to Africans.

In 2016, Globacom stood out at the annual Beacon of ICT Awards, as the telecommunications company clinched three awards at the 7th edition of the Awards held at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos. The company came tops in the “Internet Company of the Year,” “Best GSM Company of the Year” and “Enterprise Solutions Provider of the Year” categories.

In reaction to the e-top up development, Globacom’s Senior Manager, Events and Sponsorship, Sola Magaji, said Sharp Sharp E-top up rewards Glo customers 8 times the value of the amount recharged. The Glo Cafe which was also launched is an application that empowers a customer to manage his or her telecoms related needs.

Further more, Head of prepaid activation, Kenechukwu Okonkwo unveiled the new products. He explained that with the launch of the service, subscribers can get their account recharged anytime and anywhere without recharge cards.
