On March 20th, Council Member Peter F. Vallone Jr. continued his Queens-wide Public Safety Tour by joining a panel on women’s safety hosted by the 112th Precinct Community Council, which represents Forest Hills and Rego Park.
During the meeting, Vallone warned those in attendance about the increase in break-ins in the community, and spoke to a resident who had her home burglarized. The Council Member also discussed his law which increased the penalties for lewdness, as well as his efforts to protect women from sexual attacks on the subway by establishing an MTA “Wall of Shame” – which would display the photos of sex offenders who committed their crimes on the subway.
