As efforts are being made by French troops and Mali army to bring back sanity in north Mali where Islamists who had
captured towns there are being flushed out, AU commission boss has come out to advise on how peace can be achieved in the country.

The Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has appealed to the leaders in Mali and all stakeholders to work together in a spirit of harmony and responsibility, towards the implementation of the various components of the roadmap reached by Mali’s national assembly

She has urged them to refrain from any acts likely to undermine the process.

On Tuesday Mali national assembly endorsed a transition road map meant to ensure that normality returns the country.

Dlamini-Zuma appreciated endorsement of the transition road map by Mali’s National Assembly following it’s adoption and presentation to Parliament by the Government.

She expressed the hope that, in so doing, the Malian people will be empowered to achieve their legitimate aspiration for peace, unity, democracy and prosperity.

She stressed the major importance of this development, which will contribute to further mobilizing the international community in support of the Malian Government’s efforts to liberate the northern part of the country and to organize free, fair and transparent elections that will mark the end of the transitional period.
