Ghana is set to get more money to solve her problems after the oil department announced that the country’s oil production is to raise soon.
According to the department, oil production is expected to rise up from the current 80,000 barrels per day to 90,000 barrels per day by the end of the this year.
The country’s oil production towards end of next year is projected to be 120,000 barrels per day.
An official from oil department, Hilary Onuk said , ‘Oil production will increase from 80,000 barrels a day to 90,000 barrels a day. The increase is due to the successful oxidation exercise which was carried out to boost production.’
Oxidation is the process of involving the injection of acid into wells to facilitate the oil flow to the surface or onto an oil platform.
Onuk said that increase in oil production will help in boosting the country’s economy. He added that more money which will be got from sale of oil will also be available for improving on education and health sectors.
Ghana is one of the few countries in Africa whose money accrued from oil has not caused war due to being misappropriated. Most citizens are satisfied with the way oil money is spent and no cases of corruption have been cited.
