On September 8th, Council Member Peter F. Vallone Jr. attended the “Remember Me Run” in honor of the brave FDNY, NYPD and PAPD officers who lost their lives on 9/11.

The run, which took place in St. Michael’s Cemetery, was organized by Al and Maureen Santora, who lost their son Christopher, a firefighter, on 9/11.

All proceeds raised by the run will go to the Christopher Santora Scholarship Fund, which helps the children of those who died on the World Trade Center pile pay for higher education.

“This memorial run is important because it is a new event, so it is evidence that we will always remember the ultimate sacrifice these brave men and women made to save others,” said Council Member Vallone. “We must never forget, and thanks to the work and devotion of people like Al and Maureen Santora, we never will.”
