Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been pictured alongside Israeli soldiers inside a Palestinian family’s home in Tulkarm Refugee Camp, boasting about the raid. The fate of the family remains unknown.
The Israeli state broadcaster KAN published the image, showing Netanyahu inside the house with army officers following an explosion targeting three buses in Bat Yam, south of Tel Aviv.
While no investigation results had been released, Netanyahu swiftly ordered the deployment of three additional battalions to the West Bank, fueling speculation among analysts that the attack may have been staged to justify further aggression against Palestinians.
In a video message, Netanyahu asserted that Israeli forces were engaged in “critical operations” and confirmed that, along with Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, he had ordered an intensified assault on Palestinians.
The Israeli military has escalated its operations across the West Bank, carrying out widespread home invasions, violent crackdowns, and mass arrests. Among the hundreds detained are women and children, deepening concerns over human rights violations.
Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, condemned Netanyahu’s actions, stating:
“Israeli PM Netanyahu, wanted by the ICC for war crimes and crimes against humanity, persists in unlawful actions, now in full swing in the occupied West Bank. These actions are leading Israel to a troubling point in history. It’s crucial for international law to be enforced, holding Israel accountable, starting with its leaders.”
