OIC Assistant Secretary-General wraps up working visit to The Gambia
His Excellency Ambassador Yousef Al-Dobaey, the Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has completed a two-day working visit to The Gambia, engaging with top Gambian authorities on critical OIC-related matters.
During his visit, Ambassador Al-Dobaey met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mamadou Tangara, at the Foreign Ministry headquarters in Banjul.
Their discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between The Gambia and the OIC in advancing mutual objectives.
The Ambassador also paid a courtesy call to President Adama Barrow at the State House.
As the Chair of the 15th OIC Islamic Summit, President Barrow was commended by Ambassador Al-Dobaey for The Gambia’s leadership and its significant contributions to promoting Joint Islamic Action and advancing the OIC’s goals.
In his remarks, Ambassador Al-Dobaey highlighted The Gambia’s esteemed position within the OIC, noting that the successful hosting of the 15th OIC Summit in Banjul underlined the country’s commitment to the Muslim Ummah.
The visit concluded with technical meetings involving representatives from key Gambian institutions, including the Office of the President, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Gambia OIC Secretariat, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, and the Ministry of Justice.
Discussions centered on enhancing collaboration and ensuring the implementation of OIC initiatives in The Gambia.
