The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) successfully evacuated 30 patients from hospitals in northern Gaza to Gaza City’s al-Shifa Hospital, amid an intensifying Israeli siege and relentless airstrikes.

The operation was conducted in coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Patients were moved from Kamal Adwan and Al-Awda hospitals, both in the northern Gaza Strip, which has been cut off from humanitarian aid and medical supplies since October.

Meanwhile, Gaza’s civil defense agency reported that an Israeli airstrike on a five-story residential building in Beit Lahia killed at least 34 people, including women and children, with many more feared trapped under the rubble.

Civil defense spokesman Mahmud Bassal confirmed the casualties, revising earlier numbers, and noted seven injuries.

Images from the scene depict desperate rescue efforts, with residents scrambling to dig through debris and retrieve bodies. Many victims were removed on makeshift means such as donkey-pulled carts. The destruction left the building reduced to rubble, with twisted metal and broken concrete marking the devastating aftermath.

Israel’s military claimed the strikes targeted “terrorist positions” in Beit Lahia, but the attacks have forced mass displacements and inflicted heavy civilian casualties.
