Hezbollah claims responsibility as Israel soldier death toll surges

Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for targeting Israeli soldiers near the southern Lebanese town of Odaisseh. According to their statement, a guided missile struck a group of 12 soldiers at 5:20 pm on Friday, causing confirmed injuries.

Minutes later, a Hummer military vehicle with four soldiers arrived to support the initial force but was also hit by a guided missile. Hezbollah reported that the second strike resulted in deaths and injuries.

“At 5:20pm on Friday [14:20 GMT] a Zionist force consisting of 12 soldiers was targeted with a guided missile that inflicted confirmed injuries. After 20 minutes, a Hummer military vehicle with four soldiers inside intervened to support the first force. It was also hit with a guided missile, which led to their deaths and injuries,” the armed group said in a statement.

Israel’s military has suffered significant losses in recent border clashes with Hezbollah. Reports indicate that at least 10 Israeli soldiers were killed and dozens more wounded in attacks over the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, In Lebanon, at least 2,968 people have been killed and 13,319 wounded in Israeli attacks since the war on Gaza began, the Lebanese Health Ministry says.
