77 more Palestinians killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza, death toll reaches 42,924
The Health Ministry in Gaza reported Saturday that at least 77 Palestinians have been killed in intensified Israeli airstrikes over the last two days, bringing the death toll since last October to 42,924.
An additional 100,833 people have been injured during the ongoing conflict, according to ministry figures.
“The Israeli occupation has committed seven family massacres in the last 48 hours, with 77 fatalities and 289 injuries,” the ministry’s statement noted. Rescue efforts continue to face serious challenges as many remain trapped beneath rubble and blocked roads.
Despite a UN Security Council call for a ceasefire, Israel has maintained its offensive in response to an October 7 attack by Hamas. The conflict has displaced almost the entire population of Gaza amid a severe blockade, leaving residents with dwindling supplies of food, water, and medical resources.
Israel is also currently facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice regarding its actions in Gaza.
