The situation in Lebanon continues to escalate, with intense artillery shelling persisting overnight, accompanied by ongoing Israeli air and drone attacks.

In the last 30-45 minutes, a barrage of at least five Hezbollah rockets has been launched from beyond a nearby ridgeline into northern Israel.

Videos have emerged showing buildings engulfed in flames, likely caused by the rocket barrage. Hezbollah claims to have targeted enemy soldiers in the occupied Shebaa Farms area, close to the border.

Hezbollah’s actions have resulted in significant damage and risk further destabilization. The Israeli military has responded decisively, striking approximately 340 Hezbollah targets in the past 36 hours, with an additional 100 targets hit yesterday.

This brings the total to around 440 targets within 48 hours, marking a substantial increase in military action since Israel announced its limited ground offensive into Lebanon on September 29.

The surge in violence is alarming, considering the history of tensions between Israel and Hezbollah. The region has witnessed numerous conflicts, including the 2006 Lebanon War, which saw over 4,000 rockets fired at Israel. The international community has urged restraint, with the United Nations calling for a ceasefire and respect for Resolution 1701.

As the situation unfolds, concerns grow about the humanitarian impact and potential regional consequences. The conflict’s escalation poses significant risks to civilians and stability in the region.
