Muhammad Abdullah Leader of top Palestinian group killed in joint IDF-Shin bet operation

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it has successfully targeted and killed Muhammad Abdullah, a top leader of the Palestinian combative group Islamic Jihad, in the occupied West Bank.

Abdullah was reportedly the head of Islamic Jihad’s operations in the Nur Shams refugee camp in Tulkarm.

According to the IDF, the operation was a joint effort with the Israeli security agency Shin Bet.

The forces confiscated weapons and vehicles during the raid, further disrupting Islamic Jihad’s capabilities in the region. This targeted killing is part of Israel’s ongoing efforts to combat militant activity in the West Bank.

The IDF’s operation is likely to escalate tensions in the region, potentially triggering retaliatory actions from Islamic Jihad and other Palestinian militant groups.

The killing of Abdullah also highlights the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinian militants, with each side accusing the other of aggression

Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces on Thursday declared that three reserve soldiers were killed amid fighting in the northern Gaza Strip.

The three, all soldiers in the 5460th support unit of the 460th Brigade, were named as: Master Sgt. (res.) Ori Moshe Borenstein, 32, from Moreshet, Maj. (res.) Netanel Hershkovitz, 37, from Jerusalem, Master Sgt. (res.) Tzvi Matityahu Marantz, 32, from Bnei Adam.

Their deaths bring the number of Israeli troops killed in the ground offensive in Gaza to 353.
