Iraq’s crude oil exports to US surpass 115m barrels in 2023, reports EIA
Iraq’s crude oil exports to the United States exceeded 115.26 million barrels, as per the announcement by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Tuesday.
According to a report by Shafaq News, December 2023 saw Iraq exporting approximately 6.92 million barrels of oil and oil derivatives to the US, marking a notable increase of about 1.57 million barrels from November’s exports, which stood at nearly 5.35 million barrels.
Recent statistics reveal that in January 2024, Iraq’s oil exports to the US reached 5.38 million barrels, averaging at 173,000 barrels per day, while February’s exports dropped slightly to approximately 4.38 million barrels, with an average daily shipment of 127,000 barrels.
Notably, during the initial week of February, Iraq did not export any crude oil to the United States, but saw a gradual increase in shipments thereafter, with an average of 43,000 barrels per day in the second week, 226,000 barrels per day in the third week, and 240,000 barrels per day in the final week of the month.
