Lifeless body of former Iraqi goalkeeper Karrar Ibrahim found in Baghdad
Iraqi police have found the lifeless body of Karrar Ibrahim, the former goalkeeper of the Olympic football team, inside his car.
While disclosing this on Saturday July 11, 2020, the Iraqi security forces stated that Ibrahim’s body was found in his car in the Saadoun area, in the centre of the capital of Baghdad.
The forces stated they suspected suffocation when marks of strangulation was discovered around the neck of the goalkeeper.
Ibrahim, who began his athletic career in Al-Mina’a SC, zoomed to stardom after spending two years with the club. He transferred his services to Al-Talaba SC.
It was reported that the 27-year-old goalkeeper had recently renewed his contract with Al-Talaba SC.
It is feared that the mysterious death of Ibrahim, which took place a few days after the assassination of the well-known academic, Hisham Al-Hashimi, would spike assassination in Iraq.
Hisham al Hashimi, a prominent Iraqi security expert, was assassinated near his home by two gunmen on a motorbike in the protest-hit Iraqi capital on Monday.
