Coronavirus: Canadian Prime Minister’s wife tested positive
A statement from the Prime Minister office has confirmed that Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, the wife of Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, has tested positive to the deadly virus.
The statement reads that, “She will remain in isolation for the time being. She is feeling well, taking all the recommended precautions and her symptoms remain mild.”
Ms Gregoire Trudeau began to show mild flu like symptom including a fever on Wednesday night after returning from London.
After testing positive to coronavirus, she said, “Although I am experiencing uncomfortable symptoms of the virus, I will be back on my feet soon.”
The Prime Minister is in good health and has no symptoms but he will remain in isolation for 14 days alongside his wife.
“The Prime Minister will continue to fully assume his duties and will address the Canadians today.” the statement continued.
Canada has approximately 103 confirmed cases in the provinces of Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Alberta and Quebec. There has been one death linked to the disease.
