“We have been waiting almost 70 years, in fact, because yours is a truly historic visit…” Natayahu says to Indian Prime Minister Modi
Nirender Modi became the first sitting Indian Prime Minister who officially visited Israel. Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu warmly welcomed him at Tel Aviv airport on July 4th 2017.
PM Modi said, “Shalom, I am happy to be here.”
PM Netanyahu replied him, “Apka swagat hai mere dost. We have been waiting almost 70 years, in fact, because yours is a truly historic visit. It is the first time that an Indian Prime Minister is visiting Israel. We receive you with open arms. We love India. We admire your culture, your democracy and your commitment to progress.”
According to Times of India, PM Modi has been housed in King David hotel which is considered to be one of the safest suites in Israel against bomb blasts, chemical attacks and all of other things.
Sheldon Ritz, director of operations in King David Hotel and responsible for PM Modi’s entire visit to Israel, he quoted, “Even if the entire hotel is bombed, PM Modi’s suite will be untouched, will come down in a pod.”
He added, “We have hosted every US President in this century, from Clinton, Bush, and Obama and, three weeks ago, Trump. And now we are hosting PM Modi.”
Narendra Modi would on Wednesday meet President Reuven Rivlin and a host of other Israeli leaders.
Importantly, he would meet Moshe Holtzberg, the Israeli child who survived the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks as a two-year-old toddler then and interacted with Sandra Samuels, the Indian nanny who had saved Baby Moshe during the attack.
Furthermore, the second set of copper plates is believed to be the earliest documentation of the history of Jewish trade with India.
Indian Economist Analyst Sharma said, “India is the world’s biggest supplier of weapon equipment while Israel is the biggest supplier of it.”
PM Modi declared cooperation in tackling terrorism, while his host Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed that they want to forge a historic partnership with India for which even sky is not the limit.
